Ledger Live Desktop is designed to complement Ledger hardware devices. Your recovery phrase and private keys remain stored inside the secure element of your device. The desktop application uses encrypted channels to communicate with the hardware, validates firmware, and provides clear instructions for firmware updates and device health checks.

We recommend users always download Ledger Live from the official site, verify installer checksums when available, and keep their recovery phrase offline and never shared with anyone or stored digitally.
